About the Project
Code Query is developed for INK-12 researchers to analyze the data extracted from student work. The “code” in code query refers to the research-specific coding and annotation format.
Originally, Code Query started as an in-terminal mini script program but then I realized it would be much easier for most people to have a web interface. I designed it from top to bottom, with the ability to upload a new dataset, and print out queried results to several text files in addition to web view format. I used Perl, or CGI for web Perl scripting, HTML and CSS. It has a rudimentary search function that allows for AND, OR, and NOT queries, with the ability to use regular expressions as well. The read-out of the results are tables that show comprehensive matches of each query. It’s also mobile-friendly for doing research on the go. 😀
